First timer Sweetman loses parts but wins the race
San Bernardino (August 17, 2008) – The BSR West Super Late Models
ran twin 50 lap main events on Saturday, but not all
the action was on the track. In the first race
Riverside’s Mark Shackleford took the lead and held it
for the entire 50 laps. Points leader Linny White
showed his driving chops by making his way through the
field and catching up with Shackleford’s teammate John
Keller, who was running second. Keller was able to
hold White back to a third place finish while Mark
Shackleford won his first main event of the 2008
season in the Blackjack Fireworks/Luke’s Transmission Chevy Monte Carlo.
During the final laps of the race El Cajon native
Eric Sweetman made contact with Highland’s Rob
Kiemele, causing Kiemele to skid and roll. After it
was determined that both drivers were ok, an
altercation between the drivers ensued, resulting in . . .
