OSS ‘kicks & quits’ on Family Night to wrap up May

     SAN BERNARDINO – After what can be considered one of the more severe combinations of weather last weekend. Orange Show Speedway Director of Motorsports, Joe Ganino, couldn’t be happier to wrap up the month of May at the historic ¼ high-banked oval.

The speedway introduces the first of five ‘Family Nights’ where children 12 and under get in free with a paid adult admission. Appropriately enough, the Lucas Oil Late Models highlight an evening full of action as the Leno’s Rico Taco Legends, ASA Stock Pony, CEC Street Stocks and INEX Bandaleros. Thanks to the efforts of Mike Rinehart, driver of the #23 Hot and Nasty Streetwear / Toyota of Redlands / Signs Now Toyota Camry in the Lucas Oil Late Models, children will enjoy complimentary bounce houses to play in before the action kicks off later Saturday evening;

“Through shear coincidence we were able to get the use of the bounce houses.  The kids at the speedway really enjoy it on race night. Everyone at the track has worked diligently to make it a better place for drivers and fans alike. It’s tough sometimes after a long day of racing to put up and then take down, but this is just our way of helping and to say thank you.” Said Rinehart

The ‘quitting’ portion of the program wraps around an announcement by Orange Show Speedway announcer and host of Race Radio, Greg Cozzo. At last Saturday’s OSS race night and the following day on the radio show, Cozzo announced a partnership with Nicorette. Cozzo, who has been smoking for over 20 years, will partner with Nicorette to also provide the opportunity for two fans to quit smoking as well. The Race Radio Nicorette Quit Crew will provide the necessary product, counseling and support for the three to become smoke-free. The two fans selected will also receive a host of prizes including weekend passes for the upcoming NASCAR weekend at Auto Club Speedway if they remain smoke free.

“This was something I was already planning to do. It won’t be easy, but I think it is awesome that Nicorette has come on board and provided me the chance to help fans and OSS and Race Radio listeners as well become smoke free. I hate the stereotype of the ‘stock car fan’ sometimes and can’t wait change peoples thought process.” Cozzo went on to say.

Fans wishing to be considered for 2008 Race Radio Nicorette Quit Crew can visit www.raceradio.org and click on the ‘Quit Crew’ logo to submit your entry. Announcement of the winners selected will be on the June 8th Race Radio broadcast. Broadcast schedule and times also available on the Race Radio website.
